OUR HISTORY

OUR

VALUES

The Brodart Group is 100% owned by the founding family. More than a company, it's a human adventure guided by strong principles. We believe that how we achieve our goals is as important as the results themselves.

That's why we place our values at the heart of our development:

+
-
The Family

Because this is first and foremost a family affair, we cultivate an environment based on proximity, attentiveness and benevolence.
We take care to support our employees and partners with a spirit of solidarity and transmission. We move forward together, from generation to generation.

+
-
know-how

Our expertise has been built up over time, through experience, rigor and innovation.
Each site, each team, each business line is the bearer of recognized technical know-how that we nurture with pride.
Training, passing on, innovating: this is our way of building excellence.

+
-
Respect

We place respect for people, commitments and the environment at the heart of our practices.
Respect for customers, suppliers and teams, but also respect for the resources and territories in which we operate.
It is this ethical requirement that forges the trust and durability of our relationships.

BUYOUT OF CRIAUD LABELS

Brodart is now turning its attention to Western France, and more specifically to Criaud Labels, a family-owned and independent company since 1960, located in Saint-Herblain, near Nantes, and specialized in printed and neutral self-adhesive labels for a variety of markets.

BUYOUT OF GALARD LABELS

The Brodart family group continues to expand its label business. Not far from here, in fact, a little further east in Vallet, capital of Muscadet. The Galard company joins the Brodart family. This production site specializes in the design and manufacture of labels for the wine, beer and food industries. Its machinery includes offset, digital and letterpress printers, as well as finishing machines.

2012

THE GROUP'S 100TH BIRTHDAY

When the family business celebrates its centenary, several hundred hands will have set the machines in motion, carried the reams of paper, aligned the type, unwound the reels, adjusted the inks to achieve the quality.

Hundreds of sharp, vigilant eyes have monitored, controlled and nuanced to produce ever-better renderings. An event to celebrate this century of know-how has been organized, with the theme: entrée en matière.

2009

BUY
BREGER CENTER
AND BREGER SUD

2009 marks a turning point with the acquisition of Breger and its two production units. One in Béziers and the other in Sens.

The know-how and markets are there, and the high-quality people who have been with us for many years are still working there, but major investments are essential both to save the walls and to optimize the production tools.

2008

CREATION OF

THE TRADING COMPANY

Brodart Packaging was created to bring together the various business units. This was the first step, the objective being for this unit to be independent. Troyes was a natural choice, and geographically convenient for our existing employees.

2002

BUY
DE TILWEL

The company Tilwel in Brie-Comte-Robert specializes in printing individual food sachets, impregnated towels and other pharmaceutical products. The site uses only water-based inks.

Since then, a major effort has been made towards 2010 to develop pharmaceutical packaging. It's a real commitment, which implies modifications to the premises and workshops to meet the standards required by this market, as well as those of the Medical and Cosmetics sectors.

1999

BUY
L'IMPRIMERIE DE
LA HALLE

In 1984, the fourth brother, Jean-Marie Brodart, built a small workshop. His three brothers, now at the helm of the company, didn't want to keep their grandfather's letterpress business and donated it to him. He then founded L'imprimerie de La Halle.

A few years later, after a number of investments, Brodart opened up to offset and cheese label printing by acquiring the printing works of La Halle printing works.

The last member of the fourth generation, Anne-Marie Brodart, joined the company that same year. In 2006, the company expanded into the Champagne sector.

1992

PURCHASE OF

ASSETS OF

IMPRESSIONS D'ANJOU

After extending the plant and implementing new technologies, Brodart entered new markets and acquired the assets of Impressions d'Anjou, specialized in printing pouches for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

1988

Brodart receives one of its first product quality awards, the WorldStar International. The award recognizes Brodart's innovation in using the barrier properties of a six-micron-thick polyester film to package cheeses, particularly Reblochon.

1985

MOVE TO
TO THE NEW
PRODUCTION SITE

A few years after taking the helm, the Brodart brothers took the plunge and built a new factory, increasing the surface area from 800 to 2500m2. The company continued to grow, with several phases of expansion, most notably in 1988 with the creation of an R&D and Quality Control laboratory, and a warehouse for storing inks and other flammable products.

Maurice, then aged 75, hands over to his son Pierre Brodart, who has been with the family business since 1948. The workforce soon grew to 24, including Jean-Marie and François Brodart, the eldest sons of Pierre's five children. Michel, Christian and Anne-Marie Brodart would later join them.

A GROWING REPUTATION
GROWING REPUTATION

A NEW

INDUSTRIAL DIMENSION

Introduction of a new technology in the workshop: flexography. This marked the beginning of a period of investment that has become part of the DNA of the Brodart name.
